Apparently what I said about the ACLU was not accurate. It was a faulty recollection.
Just watched Frank Capra’s “Can’t Take it With You.” Frank’s son in a special feature short on the DVD described the despicable fraud perpetrated by Columbia Picture’s Harry Cohn. What a scheister. It is also described in this link: http://www.tcm.com/this-month/article/150876%7C0/If-You-Could-Only-Cook.html
What I found interesting in the film are the couple monologues by Barrymore which spew patriotism and knock other political “ism” of that time. Note the movie was based on play written by couple of jews. I wonder if this portion of the script was lifted from the play or added.
